Two kids must escape a mystical killer while trying to solve a mystery: why is the city alive and attacking them?

Rio de Janeiro – Brazil’s “Marvellous City” – 1994. Economic reform. Exploding inequality. A record number of people living on the streets.

8-year-old Bro is an aspiring graffiti artist who loses his voice after witnessing his brother being murdered by a supernatural killer known as the Hygieniser.

Ladydi, 12, survives on the streets by outsmarting adults and selling pirated CDs. She doesn’t believe in friendship – only survival. But when she meets Bro, something shifts…

Hustling the streets together, the two kids will discover that the city itself is coming alive and attacking as they try to escape the Hygieniser, who is using bodies and souls to “sanitise” the city.
